translationtranslation

Loues teares are his testimonies.
The teares of loue do serue for witnessing his wo,
His ardent loue the fyre, the fournace is his harte,
The wynd that blowes it, sighs, that rise from inward smarte,
The limbeke his two eyes, from whence his teares do flow.

Ne fa fede il pianto.
Struggemi Amor in pianto à stilla à stilla,

Tranen ghetuyghen.

Mes pleurs tesmoignent.

Translations

De tranen zijn getuigen.
The tears bear witness.
[Heinsius, Emblemata amatoria 3.3] What do you hesitate? Let my tears reveal that I am burning, just as water always trickles from a banked fire.
