Eccles. 29.
Amicus amici caussa, honores, dignitates, voluptates, diuitias, ceteraque for-
tunæ bona negligit, atque aspernatur. Notum illud Sapientis: Perde pecuniam
propter amicum; præsertim iucundum. Nam amico iucundo magis egemus, quàm aqua
vel igne.

Amicus tristis & querulus non comparandus.

Sprezza la laurea, & il thesor bramato.
La perdita per lui, l'esser mendico
Acquisto stima, auenturoso stato,
Gli è sol thesor l'amico e solo honore,
E mostra, ch'amicitia è vero amore.

L'homme aduisé toute chose
Au parfait amy postpose
Faisant beaucoup moins de cas
D'amour, d'argent, & d'estats
Que d'vn amitié sincere.
Tant on trouue de soulas,
Quand vne amiable paire,
Tache de s'entre-complaire.

La beauté, la richesse aux minieres enclose,
Les mets delicieux, & le throsne royal,
N'ont rien au parangon de l'amy Iouial,
Tu doibs pour son amour mespriser toute chose.
