XLVI.
HOe wyke ik best van 't aerdsch gewemel?
Koom, Jezus, leid my by de handt
Naer 't eeuwigduurendt Vaderlandt,
Ik haet de weerelt om den hemel!
Wegh staetzucht, wellust, overdaet,
Wegh wapenschilden, septers, kroonen,
Eerampten, huizen, hoven, troonen;
Godts Sion is myn toeverlaet.
Godts Sion straelt in bei myne oogen:
Dat is de burgh, wiens burgerrecht
My op Godts woort is toegezegt;
En 't kan zyne Almacht aen vermogen,
Zyn Waerheit aen onschendbre trouw,
Zyn Liefde nooit aen wil ontbreken,
Dat ik, de weerelt dus ontweken,
Myn vaderlant niet vinden zou.
Gewis, de handt die my wil leiden,
De strael van 't aldoorstralendt Oogh,
Helpt, en bestraelt my van om hoogh.
Nooit zal myn Jezus van my scheiden,
Als ik niet omzie, maer recht aen
Den wegh van zyne lievelingen,
Den wegh dien alle vromen gingen,
Den rechten hemelweg blyf gaen.
