Die hem laet duncken dat hij kan verstaen, en hooren
De stem van Godt, in sijn vervuijlde Dicke ooren,
die is verdoolt. want wij soo lange doof syn tot
T'inwendich oor gheraeckt wert vande goede Godt.
Dan hooren wy t'Musyck van Godts woort Ackoorderen
En vloeijen in ons ziel. Dan leeren wij Godt Eeren:
En luijstren vlijtich toe nae t' geen hy ons ghebiet
Maer Raeckt hij ons niet aen soo hooren wij gans niet translation

Qui de soy cuide entendre & bien ouir
La voix de Dieu, n'a rien que fol penser:
Tous sommes sourds, dont ne sauvons iouir
Du doux accord qu'en nous veut compasser,
S'il ne luy plaist de son sainct doigt perçer
Iusques au fond l'oreille interieure,
Lors l'entendrons & l'orrons sans cesser.
Qui n'a ce don, tousiours sourd il demeure. translation
