Laes, Ongerechtigheijt! nu pronckt ghij wel ondieft
Opt' seven-hoofdich beest, verkouwt in alle Liefdt,
Tot overlopen is v kop vol gift geschoncken,
Van t'martelaeren bloet, O hoer! soo sijt ghy Droncken.
De Liefde Goodts verkluemt, en is van kouw schier doot
Haer vlammen heet ghij door v Couwt fenijn wt goot.
Noch troost ons Cristus koomst, die nae syn welbehagen,
De werelts duijsterheyt en ondeucht sal verjagen. translation

Ce vase plein de toute iniquité,
La beste aussi & celle qu'elle porte,
Ont si tresfort refroidi charité
Par leur poison, qu'on la tenoit pour morte:
Mais vne chose y a, qui nous conforte,
C'est que prochain est Christ, où elle abonde.
Ia sa clarté nous apparoit si forte,
Qu'elle destruit les tenebres du monde. translation
