Calcat Amor pede mensuram, atque domantio frena, hune
Nulla lupata modus, lex, retinacla movent.
Errat, qui finem vesani quærit Amoris.
Verus Amor nullum novit habere modum.

Liefd' is onmatigh.
Cupido, maet en toom vertreedt met lichte sinnen,
Gheen maet is in de Liefd', gheen breydel en belet
Cupido in zijn vlucht, voor hem en is gheen wet.
In alle dingh is maet, maer gheensins in 't beminnen.

Amour n'a mesure.
Ny mesure, ny frein le Dieu d'Amour n'endure,
Nul lien, nulle loy, n'arrestera son vol,
Qu' il n'aille poursuivant tousiours son desir fol.
Le seul parfait Amour ne sçait point de mesure.
