Arentem senio nudam quoque frondibus ulmum
Complexa est viridi vitis opaca coma.
Exemplóque docet tales nos quærere Amores,
Quos neque disiungat fœdere summa dies.

Iae nae de doodt.
De wijngaert noch omhelst dē olmboom, al heeft konnē
Den ouderdom hem gantsch verdorren: in den noodt
De Liefd' stantvastigh blijft, jae selfs oock nae de doodt.
De doodt die 't al verwint van Liefde wert verwonnen.

Voire apres la mort.
La vigne entour l'ormeau s'entortille & l'embrasse,
Ore que par viellesse il soit ja sec & mort:
Ferme se tient l'Amour tousiours apres la mort,
Le pouvoir de la mort l'Amour dompte & surpasse.
