God gaf zich voor u, geeft u zich aan God.

Heb de liefde lief van Hem die uit liefde voor ons neerdaalde in de schoot van de maagd en daar zijn liefde verenigend met die van u, zichzelf vernederend, u verhogend en het licht van zijn eeuwigheid verbindend met het slijk van uw sterfelijkheid.
Love the love of Him, who out of love for you descended into the Virgin's womb, and there coupled His love to yours by humiliating Himself, by elevating you, by connecting the light of His eternity to the mire of your mortality.
Zie in dat het al van Hem is, door wiens hemel u bedekt wordt, in de schoot van wiens aarde u wordt omvat, enzovoorts, en die, na zoveel, zichzelf voor u heeft gegeven.
You have to understand that the universe is His, by Whose heaven you are covered, in the bosom of Whose earth you are contained [...], who after so much gave Himself to you.
