De liefde Godts is eenen schat
Oneyndelijck, niet om waerderen,
De ghene die dien vint en vat
En kan gheen grooter goet begheren:
Gheen s’weerelts rijckdom, goet, en lust
En machmen teghen dien niet achten,
Hy leeft in armoed’, en onrust,
Die na Godts liefde niet wilt trachten.
Oneyndelijck, niet om waerderen,

liefde is een kostbare schat. |

rijkdom van heil zijn wijsheid en kennis; de vreze des Heren is zijn schat.

bood iemand heel het bezit van zijn huis voor de liefde, men zou het als
nietswaardig afwijzen. |

liefde Gods is een onuitputtelijke schat; wie haar bezit, is rijk en ieder die haar niet heeft, arm. |

Kijk
naar de rijkdom van de rechtvaardige; je ziet een lege geldkist, maar een geweten dat rijk is aan God; hij heeft geen uiterlijk
vermogen maar liefde van
binnen; Hoeveel liefde geeft hij uit, maar er komt geen einde aan. |

Het
goud van de liefde is de grootste schat, want de rest is armoede. |
|
Gierige ziel, ziehier de schat die ieder in zijn huis moet bewaken; want alleen hij is waarlijk rijk die het zo kan
bezitten. Het goud is maar een ogenschijnlijke schat, de Liefde is het werkelijk, en slechts in
haar is overvloed, en zonder haar is alles armoede. |
