Clausæ fuit Danae turri captiva nitenti,
Pervia at aurato mox patet illa Iovi:
Quid ni fulgenti marmor concederet auro?
Vincuntur donis Dijque simul hominesque. translation

Alleen beweeghlijck door 't goudt.
De marmretooren en de harde stalen dooren
Van Danae, vvijcken voor de gulde Godt Iupijn:
Alzo kan oock het goudt een steenen hart bekoren,
Dat anders niet bevveeght door eenigh ding zoud' zijn.

Amour fait moult, Mais l'or fait tout.
Le foudre tempesteux, l'Aquilon, ni l'Orage,
Ne m'ont peu de ma place aucunement mouvoir,
Tousiours ferme j'estois maintienant mon debuoir,
Mais l'or luysant ma fait vaciller le courage.
Et que ne fait l'Amour, quand il est tout doré?
De ce fait foy la tour d'arain de Danaé.
