Als ick hebb’ vry gheweest2/
ick hadde groot verlanghen
Om vast te moghen zijn/ ick moeste zijn ghevanghen:
Ick sach het minnen aen/ het was een lieflick spel/
Waer dat ick henen sach/ het gingh al even wel:3
Ick sach de vryers aen/ ick sach haer soentjens gheven/
En soete praet uytslaen: ick docht/ dat waer mijn leven/

Nu word’ ick eerst ghewaer hoe dat het gaet te werck.

Toen ik vrij was, verlangde ik er naar gevangen te zijn. Ik keek naar het minnen, het was een liefelijk spel. Waar ik ook keek, alles ging even goed. Ik keek naar de vrijers, zag ze zoentjes geven en lieve taal uitslaan. Ik dacht dat mijn leven ook zo zou moeten zijn. Ik dacht dat het zo goed ging, maar nu ik zelf in het perk ben getreden, word ik pas gewaar hoe het echt in zijn werk gaat. |
