Erit ex hoc æquior Orbis [31]
XXXI.
Erit ex hoc æquior Orbis.
OMnia Dius Amor tentauit, & omnia, nisus
Hinc sibi spe Mundum subdere, & inde metu:
Effronti rigidus sed perstat fronte, nec vllis
Dat verbis victas, verberibusque, manus.
Vltimus en aries Crux, claui, spina, columna,
Funis, arundo, flagrum, lancea, sanguis, Amor.
Iam scio, iam ponet, bellorum semina, noxas
Mundus Cœligenæ factus Amoris amor:
Si quid inæquali gibbosum extuberat Orbe,
Protinus abraso tubere ponet onus:
Rex scelerum Tumor ipse cadet, cadet ebrius Euan,
Et consanguineo cum grege mœcha Venus.
Nempe coronato tibi vertice fulguret aurum,
Diuinum terebrent spinea serta caput?
Det sceptrum tibi gemma, Deo det inanis arundo
Saxum illi, tibi sit sella curulis ebur?
Ille suo rubeat, tu sanguine Muricis? illum
Dedecoret vestis candida, te decoret?
Aurea te cingat torques, hunc ferrea? Christum
Vincula, te spirâ dite coronet onyx?
Diues opum Pariâ viuas trabeatus in aulâ,
Et patrio dicas Regia iura foro,
Ille domûs exsors, Regnisque extorris auitis,
Ille animam gelido sub Ioue nudus agat?
Dulce saporato te nectare proluat aurum,
Diaque myrrhatus asperet ora liquor?
Barbaries dios vellat recutita capillos,
Et struat in cirros ars tibi lena comam?
Sputa Deo eripiant, tibi det cerussa colorem?
Te speculi obtenebrent fulgura, vela Deum?
Plaudat amœna tibi manus, & pes Orgia, Christo
Clauus vtrimque manum figat, vtrimque pedem?
Somnus Amyclæo stertat tuus ansere, Christus
Pendeat in durâ pervigiletque trabe?
Vt reseret cuspis Diuinum ferrea pectus,
Et tibi stet rigido vinctum adamante iecur?
Non ita: sanguis adest, qui fracto adamāte triumphet,
Quoque Amor exæquat omnia, tornus adest.

Raclez Amour Diuin toutes ces finfreluches
Ces carcants, ces miroirs, ces sceptres, ces embusches,
Ces pieges des mortels, afin que le faux monde
Ne vienne à entraisner aux enfers tant de mōde
