Struit ut ruat [18]
XVIII.
Struit vt ruat.
FRustraes: quid Orbes Orbibus ingeris
Fortuna demens? Enceladi velut,
Rhœtique vesani labores
Pelion imposuêre Olympo.
Cœlo invidendis culmina turribus
Molire, & ipsis æmula nubibus;
E nube collis â superbos
Flamma vorax ruet in penates.
Sed ite flammæ tela tricuspidis;
Ludente Cœlo culmina concidunt,
Ludente Cœlo sidit omnis
In cumulum, tumulumque fastus.
Sors cœca prisco regnet in Antio,
Humana certis fata rotis eunt,
Mens Orbe ludens insolentis
Vana Spei simulacra vertit.
Deo minorem te gere, Rex eris.
Spes temperatas lex quoque dirigit
Superna, subuertitque Mundi
Artificem scelerum tumorem.
Sic dum supernis sedibus æmulas
Educit arces Iapeti genus,
Deiecit in præceps ab alto
Cœlituum malè cœpta lusus:
Sic exul astris Lucifer aureis
Traxit rebelles Aligerûm choros:
Fœlice sic pulsi vireto
Cum Patribus miseranda Proles.
In astra ructant dum tumidi minas,
Cadit suorum Sennacherib manu,
Mugitque septenni in iuuenco
Assyrij dominator Orbis.
Immersit vmbris Antiochum tumor
Dum bella Cœlo sacrilegus mouet;
Furoris hæres Iulianus
Tergeminâ perit ictus hastâ.
Time ruinam quisquis in æthera
Demens superbis cornibus arietas:
Impunè nemo fastuosis
In superos parat arma telis.

Feray que ce ballon plus vist, & plus haut vole:
Escoutez arrogant, tes hautaines bouffées
Seruent à ces bouffons de ieu, & de risées.
