Quis levior? cui plus ponderis addit amor [4]
IV.
Quis leuior? cui plus ponderis addit amor.
FRustrà Cypridis impiger puelle,
Totos niteris, atque perdis annos,
Addens pondera, ponderique pondus:
Namque addas licet, vsque, & vsque pondus,
Et Mundos cumules Cupido Mundis,
Appendet minus vsque, & vsque Mundus.
Leuis sibilus est sonantis auræ,
Seu Neptune tua ambulat per arua,
Seu dum Flora tuum natat per æquor.
Et spuma est leuis è latrante Ponto,
Et alâ leuis est volante pluma,
Et leuis palea est, leuisque arundo,
Et pilus leuis est, leuisque stupa,
Lanugo leuis est, leuisque fumus,
Sunt leues atomi, leuisque puluis,
Et nubes leuis est, leuesque flammæ,
Quas ruptâ iaculatur æthra nube:
Ast leuissimus est leuissimorum,
Et vmbrâ leuior leuissimorum.
Mundus omnium; & vsque permanebit,
Dum Mundo dominabitur Cupido.
Quid bullâ leuius, sequace bullâ,
Quam sapone animans, breuique conchâ
Tenelli creat halitus puelli?
At si dius Amor libret bilancem,
Præ bullâ est leuis, halituque Mundus.
Scis quidnam leuius putem esse Mundo?
Si nescis, breuibus docebo: NIL est.

C'est vray Monde leger, que le bouillon volage
Par l'ocean de l'air s'enuole, ram', & nage
A la mercy des vents; mais encor vous deuance
Ce bouffy diamant, au poids de la balance.
