Non bene conveniunt [19]
XIX.
Non bene conueniunt.
NOn bene conueniunt, nec corde mor antur in vno
Cœlicus ille puer, terreus ille puer.
Non ea Thebanis micuit discordia flammis,
Non ea Tantaleis fratribus ira fuit.
Tam gerit hostiles Amor hic, Amor ille pharetras,
Pusio tam varias spargit vterque faces.
Hic stygiâ, hic superâ cor figit arundine, castis
Hic animat flammis, turpibus ille necat.
Luxque minùs tenebras, lucemque odêre tenebræ;
Eripit hic noctem mentibus, ille diem.
Vt perit in mediâ lactis loligine gutta,
Vt crystallineas sepia fuscat aquas,
Castus Acidalijs violatur ab ignibus ardor,
Horret Acidalios nec minùs iste rogos.
Sic mouet Errori longam Sapientia litem,
Ipsaque cum Bello Pax fera bella gerit.
Dissidet æterno Virtus, Vitiumque duello,
Non habitant vnos, Vitaque Morsque lares;
Hoc duce non erras, Cyprius te decipit erro,
Dius Amor pacem, Cyprius arma colit.
Hûic Virtus, illi sunt noxia crimina cordi;
Hic reserat vitæ, mortis at ille fores.
Denique sic ipsosodium non odit Amores,
Vt Veneris prolem Cœlicus odit Amor.
Vnicus Orbe vno sit Sol, Amor vnicus; vno
Vnicus in regno Rex sit, & vnus Amor.
Ipse vides sculpto radios quem spargere cœlo
Sol priùs æthereâ fundet ab arce iubar,
Stella priùs falsis cælata lauabitur vndis,
Terraque sidereis iuncta vehetur equis,
Ipse vel inuiso succedet Olympus Auerno,
Omniaque in priscum sunt reditura chaos;
Quàm bene conueniant puer alter, & alter: Amores
Scis quando placido fœdere iunget amor?
Vix puncto hærentes vno, cum videris ambos,
Omnibus in punctis se tetigisse globos.

Ces deux Amours se sōt en tout du tout cōtraires,
Ilz n'ont rien de commun, ilz viuent en diuorce:
Ioignez de poinct en poinct ces boules en consorce,
Encor n'apoincteras tu rien de leurs affaires.
