Vt puella in pratis alium post alium florem carpens
priores negligit: sic qui plures amare instituit, nullam

Choise breeds confusion.
Lyke to the wench that comes where fragrant flowers growes,
And still that flower plucks whereof first choise shee makes,
But it assoone forgets as shee another takes,
So doth the wauering mynd, for new choyce elder lose.

Abondanza confunde.
Come chi coglie i fior di prato in prato
Presto il primier’ oblia, ch’ hauea raccolto,
Cosi fà quei, ch’ à nouo Amor’ è volto.
Quell’ ama in van, che ogn’ hor cangia l’amato.

Veel kiesen doet verliesen.
Ghelijck een meysken iongh gaet plucken d’een na d’andren
Veel bloemkens/ en vergheet haest d’eerst’ in het ghemeen:
Soo doet oock die aenvanght de vrientschap van elck een.
Dicwijls de niewe Liefd’ doet d’oude gantsch verandren.

Foison m’esgaye.
Comme la fille au pré de son beau doit moissonne
