Tant d'inuentions de guerres & meslées,
Triomphe vn iour, & se fait voir vainqueur;
Et les Amants qui auront volu suiure
Son estandart, pourront à iamais viure
Et posseder vn eternel bonheur.

Bien puede trunfar amor:
Pues de todas sus faënas
Sale con las manos llenas.

Translations

Triumph of love.
Forever it marches crowned in triumph, victorious in unsullied deeds of valor.
Sing, my tongue,
the Savior's glory;
tell His triumph far and wide;
tell aloud the famous story
of His body crucified;
how upon the cross a victim,
vanquishing in death, He died.

Abroad the regal banners fly,
now shines the Cross's mystery:
upon it Life did death endure,
and yet by death did life procure.
Who, wounded with a direful spear,
did purposely to wash us clear
from stain of sin, pour out a flood
That which the prophet-king of old
hath in mysterious verse foretold,
is now accomplished, whilst we see
God ruling the nations from a Tree.
of precious water mixed with blood.
