Quid non vincit Amor? quid non puer alme coërces?
Qui vulpem annosam vincula ferre doces.
Non robur iuuenes, non experientia canos
Eximit, æquali quoslibet arte capis.

The old fox is oft beguyled.

Look look how loue somtyme the old fox doth ensnare,
Or with his arrow hit whyle hee would runne away,
Not only youth is caught in snares that loue doth lay,
But eu’n the craftie old want craft for to beware.

E giouani leggieri, e vecchi esperti.

Scorgete, come Amor con laccio duro,
Coglie la vecchia volpe, ò col fier dardo;
Se à lui soggiace il giouine gagliardo,
l’Esperto vecchio anchor non và securo.

Den ouden vos wort dickwijls bedroghen.

Ey siet doch siet/ de Liefd’ den ouden vos somtijden
In sijne stricken vanght/ of met sijn pijlen schiet/
Den ionghen niet alleen staet onder sijn bediet.
Voorsichtigheyt of list kan d’oude niet bevrijden.

Außi le viel regnard.

Voyes comme l’Amour en ses lacqs sçait surprendre,
Et toucher de son trait souuent le viel regnard,
Non le ieune homme seul, mais aussi le vieillard,
Ce cauteleux garçon se peut esclaues rendre.

What is not conquered by Amor? Generous boy, what don't you control? You learn an old fox to bear chains. Their strength does not protect the young, nor their experience the old, you catch all men with the same trick.
