Non facilè esuriens posita retinebere mensa,
Et multam saliens incitat vnda sitim.

Occasion causeth theft.
The hungrie having meat can hardly it refrayn,
The thirstie at the well can il forbeare to drink,
The louer with his loue tyme seruing one would think,
For to enioy her loue as litle can abstayn.

Spesso l’ occasion fà l’huomo ladro.
A la viuanda l’affamato corre,
At al’ acque stillanti il sitibondo;
l’Amante à la sua Dea corre giocondo,
Ne lascia al’ occasion tempo interporre.

Oorsaeck doet stelen.
Die honghert by de spijs’ can qualick t’eten laten/
Die by het water dorst/ die wil daer drincken van:
Den minnaer by sijn Lief hem qualick wachten kan
Te blusschen sijnen brandt van Liefde bouen mate.

Qui trouue aupres de luy son coeur, ne peut faillir
De prendre tout son soul de chose si friande.
